The SupportThis year our team has gained in many ways this year by finding new and supportive sponsors to receiving help from our vast number of talented mentors. We have been able to innovate, design and fabricate an amazing robot in only a six week build period thanks to our wonderful sponsors and mentors. Out mentors have been able to help with design, logistics, administration and fabrication for every aspect of our participation this year. Our mentors were even able to organize and host a local scrimmage in which fifteen teams and over 200 people participated at the Colorado School of mines. |

The HistoryThe South Jeffco Robotics Team (Team 1799) was originally founded in 2005 by the Dakota Ridge High school technical teacher, Bill Schmidt and a modest group of bright students. The team's first year was one of trial and tribulation. With the help of Bill Schmidt and a hand full of mentors the team grew to nearly 20 members, and produced a running robot to compete in the Colorado Regional's at Denver University. Although the team placed 43rd overall the team was pleased with the effort they put forward, and ended the season with many lessons learned and eager to compete in next year's challenge with renewed enthusiasm. Throughout their first season and continuing into their second the team has participated and contributed in community enhancing events as well as donating time and skill to other F.I.R.S.T .organizations including teams participating in F.I.R.S.T .Lego League. There're ultimate goal is to ensure that the South Jeffco Robotics Team and more importantly F.I.R.S.T. as a whole will have many participates and mentors for years to come. |
